David has spent most of his life on the North Shore. While born in England he came to Canada at the ripe age of two and moved into a “post and beam” special in Eagle Harbour. He moved to Kitsilano in his younger years but as a committed North Shore resident he came back to and launched Hughes Brothers
David’s creative edge allowed him time at Emily Carr College and a long and still standing career as a bass player and founding member of She Stole My Beer. While the music was fun, David’s creative instinct continued to lead him towards building and design. Over the years David has been involved in many projects and has maintained great relationships with his clientele. He has the ability to envision what a client is looking for and facilitate that vision.
Outside of work David and wife have two children, although now adults. David is forever active and fully involves himself in whatever he does. Latest passion…teaching himself to play drums and slide guitar. He continues to play with his band(s) when possible which sometimes includes his offspring. He can cook up a storm and keep you laughing at any given time!
Aaron joined Hughes Brothers in 2005 and has been an invaluable member of the team. During this time
Aaron went back to school and earned his Seal Journeyman Carpenter ticket. Aaron works as a Site Foreman on our projects and continues to put forward quality work with an unstoppable work ethic.
Aaron lives on the North Shore and keeps himself busy raising his beautiful daughter.
Zach has been with Hughes Brothers since 2015. He has been a fabulous addition to our Team and has been coined by one of our clients as “generally the Happiest Guy On-The-Shore”. He brings a high level of carpentry experience to all our projects and has a unique ability to solve problems while working efficiently.
Zach lives on the North Shore and enjoys all the outdoor adventure he can.
Sheila has her roots both literally and figuratively in North Vancouver. She is currently the self-proclaimed Warrior Queen of Hughes Brothers Construction and endeavours to keep the HBC engine running as prepared by many years in the Corporate Human Resources environment. Somewhere between the Corporate world and Hughes Brothers she and David were married. After two spectacular wee ones Sheila went back to school and earned a Horticulture landscape degree.
An accomplished landscape designer and avid photographer she takes on landscape projects for Hughes Brothers Construction, administers the Company and creates the social media profile for the business. In her spare time she designs jewellery for her Company Daisy Jones Designs, plays well with her friends and is considered to be a tequila aficionada (hence the friends).
