David Hughes has spent most of his life on the North Shore. While born in England he came to Canada at the ripe age of two and moved into a “post and beam” special in Eagle Harbour. He moved to Kitsilano in his younger years but as a committed North Shore resident he came back to live, start and continue his family and launch Hughes Brothers Construction. David’s creative edge allowed him time at Emily Carr College and a long and still standing career as a bass player and founding member of She Stole My Beer. While the music was fun David’s creative instinct continued to lead him towards building and design thus he incorporated Hughes Brothers Construction in 1998. Over the years David has been involved in many construction projects and continues to maintain great relationships with his clients. He has the ability to envision what a client is looking for and facilitate that vision for them. Outside of work David and his wife have two children, one in high school and the other studying and playing rugby at UBC. David is forever active and fully involves himself in everything he does. Latest passion…teaching himself to play the drums. He continues to be involved in the community by way of coaching soccer for many years, providing venues for young kids to showcase their musical talent and most recently organizing and hosting (with the help of warrior wife) a very successful fundraising event for The Boys Club Network. |
